2026 MASA Workshop: Setting the Tax Rate

This workshop will focus on the process of setting a school district's tax rate.

Presenters Mr. Jason Hoffman, retired Chief Operations Officer of Jefferson City Public Schools, and Dr. Jim Cummins, retired Superintendent of the Neosho School District, will guide participants through the completion of State Auditor forms and discuss best practices for planning, advertising, and conducting a tax rate hearing.

Participants will receive practical guidance, sample documents, and resources to help ensure a smooth and compliant tax rate-setting process in their districts.
